On April 14, 2006, Steven and Carolyn West formed the West Family Foundation.
The principal focus of the Foundation is to benefit children and families who reside in the geographical area of Southern Oregon.
President's Welcome
The West Family Foundation has been everything we hoped for and more. Many wonderful groups and organizations have applied for grants, and it has been our pleasure to help these worthy causes.
We hope that the West Family Foundation’s contributions have blessed our community and helped make it a better place for all of us. We are excited to build upon our first 15 years as we continue our mission of assisting children and families.
We have great expectations for Southern Oregon and look forward to meeting many more new and dynamic organizations within this very special community.

The affairs of the Foundation are managed by a Board of Trustees consisting of three to seven members from a class of family trustees and a class of public trustees. Trustees are nominated and elected by the board for terms of three years.

The Grants Committee reviews applications and makes funding recommendations to the Board.
In 2009 the Grants Committee began adding high school students, known as Junior Ambassadors, to the grant evaluation process. These dynamic young people bring a valued and unique perspective to the committee and enhance the grant process.
